This is ridiculous. When is government house going to get the message that the police have to get serious about going after criminals. The Government has pleaded with Government House to get tough, and to this day its doubtful that we've seen any change.

We all saw the tourism numbers this week. It's clear that, now more than ever, Government needs to take action to bolster the tourism industry.
Statement from the house yesterday.
Mr. Speaker, this Government recognizes the almost unfettered powers of the Auditor General. These immense powers are founded in the Constitution and in the Audit Act. When exercised responsibly these powers serve the Government and the people of Bermuda well. The Auditor General can be termed the watchdog's watchdog, and it is right that his independence is preserved and jealously guarded.
This is rich. Bob Richards the builder of the "Nazi" Computer system.

Immigration Minister David Burch has called for Bob Richards to resign after he likened a plan for expatriate ID cards to “Nazi Germany” — without disclosing that one of his own companies would make $3 million from the project.
I'm shocked at the amount of white people in this world who are committed to Black Power. The amount of "Black Power Salutes" on the internet is astounding.

Can this really be? Or is it likely that the Opposition (UBP, RG, VRA) and just trying to sow further seeds of division on this Island. Trying as they can do best to attempt to weaken the PLP. Newsflash.... ITS NOT WORKING!
I have to say, I was shocked when the draft Workforce Equity Act 2007. I was beginning to loose hope that Bermuda would really ever have a progressive government and then they throw us a Gem like this.
The purspose of the bill reads as follows.
There have been a few times on this blog where Denis Pitcher goes on a rant about toursim numbers and cruise ships etc... Originally I was goign to respond to the post under the Grad Statistics, but I guess it makes more sense to start a new one.
Denis Pitcher is off in left field someways but thats not surprising. At least he went through the numbers so i must give him some credit.

A couple of weeks ago the Premier called on the Governor to take ‘swift and meaningful action’ to find who stole confidential files from the police and leaked them to the media. I’m sure the Premier was surprised that the Governor actually listened (if he’s not I sure as hell am). In what the UBP sensationalisers are calling an unprecedented move and a misdirected witch-hunt saw their idol Larry Denis the AUDITOR General arrested and questioned.
Opinion by Julian Hall
I have chosen to start this piece by revealing a few facts of a highly personal nature which I have never hitherto discussed in public and about which I have seldom talked privately. I think it its time to open up on these matters, because I truly believe them to be relevant to ultimate subject matter of this piece.
Below is the speech given to the Senate by Minister Burch on Wednesday.
Mr. President, I am compelled today to make this statement to put into perspective recent comments on the issue of crime, trust in politics and the relationship between this Government and Government House. It is unfortunate that a consistent flaw in our cultural understanding of the phenomena that is our Constitution makes for fertile ground in the absence of a willingness to advance the truth and genuinely inform the public at large.
The UBP is in full election mode (you'd think they'd at least wait until its called) and now you can't find a single press release where they aren't on about a years old contract for emissions control. But the funny part is they are claiming nepotism because one of the principals of the company is the Premiers Cousin...... GASP, not his cousin.
Its so funny, while the people are 'protesting' in the street the oppposition remains SILENT on the Southlands issue. Why is this? Are they too scared to say, "We support the plan". If they have any principle, one would think that they would say one way or the other; but knowing the UBP that would not be possible.
I really wish someone in the press would get their position, it would be gratifying to know that they can actually be asked to take a stand.
I've always wanted a bog so I'm happy to finally have one, now i can write about the things that the RG calls news.
I'm curious as to why the Royal Gazette finds it challenging to print the truth. I'll take 2 examples from yesterday Editorial and Today's story to make my point.
