It seemed a bit odd that it had a picture of newly appointed Senator Thaao Dill sitting next to a pool.. Then the headline below it in bold read "Ex-politican's Son found dead in pool?".

Is it me looking at it too deep or that is just odd...
Does anyone feel what the media puts out there should be viewed superficially or in depth?
**please note, I am not trying to bring in race nor political affiliation into this post... but if you feel otherwise add on only if they are justified and thought out reasons.
It is sad that the Opposition in their defeat have taken to insulting and offending the electorate.
Patricia Gordon Pamplin - Deputy Opposition leader
"I just hope that the future Government is held accountable more so than the last one. I just hate to think that the electorate has set aside standards of expectation. I think they are saying, 'we don't care that people will spend our money without telling us. We have just thrown out rules and regulations'. It's painful that we, as a people, don't care."
Michael Dunkley - Former Opposition leader
"Nasty must work,"
To all of the PLP supporters, congrats on another victory. Hopefully we can move forward without any bitterness after what has been a rather bitter election and some of the promises that been made will be realised. I also really hope that this site can get back onto its mandate, which is to encourage discussion on how to get things done, rather than the petty discourse it's featured for the past 2 months. A toast to the new Bermuda government, let us hope in 5 years time we're in a better place than today.
Vote PLP. Put it down. It's time Bermuda. Let's do it for our kids. Let's do it for our seniors. Let's do it for our families. Let's do it for the Dame.
T.O.K - Solid as a Rock
Today is Election Day. Polls are open from 8 am to 8 pm. Make sure that you vote PLP and call all your friends and family and remind them to vote. This is the most important election since 1998. Let's do it for our kids. Let's do it for our families. Let's do it for our seniors. And, let's do it for the Dame!
7 pm. Devonshire Rec. Biggest PLP Rally of the Year. Featuring Luciano, Mikey General and Ashford & Simpson!
Be there.
The other day, someone on one of the UBP message boards asked what happened to Young United? Well, it doesn't seem like there's much of an organisation left. I guess the UBP will have to rely on their older stalwarts.
Looks like a happenin' time. Don't you wish you were there?
I can't believe what I read over at the Bermuda is Another World forum. The UBP supporters over there think that this racist comment is hillarious. This was posted by one of the pro-UBP administrators of the message board:
I like that... let's change their name from the PLP to the BVP: the Black Victim Party. BWAA HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!! . So, from today forward, lets all call the Party for what it is, the bvp!!! Poooor sights!!
After the election is over, do most of you still plan to be actively involved in the political dialogue in Bermuda, or do you plan to ease off?
I have spoken to a few people, and they are getting tired of politics being in their face everyday by the media and people.
Personally in my 20-odd years on the rock, I have never seen the political climate in Bermuda like this.
What are your thoughts?
In recent discussions with like minded colleagues of mine, the concept of the need to create more effective use of the virtual world such as this blog has been discussed.....The 21st century is a world of advanced technology, information sharing capacity and increasing globalisation. Many of the challenges faced by our small island community are in context with those faced by the world at large.
Hello everyone......I am a recent "blogger" on the site......so I figured I would start my first blog with a positive outlook as I consider myself an optimist and solution builder.....the text below is a copy of a recent letter to the editor to both the Royal Gazette and the Bermuda Sun.....none of which have printed them as yet so I would like to share my thoughts with those on this e-community.............views are welcome.........
My mother always said what goes on in the dark comes out in the light. Will UBP supporters hold him to the same level as scrutiny? I want to see the file. I'll settle for a copy now that the precedence has been set.
I remember when Sir John Swan said..
"International businesses are wondering of they are really welcome in Bermuda.... I think there is a sense out there in Bermuda not spoken publicly by the international businesses because they are afraid to but they are wondering if they are really welcome in this country. "

The first time I read that, I was thinking its 1998 again with scare tactcs. Now Today I read:
Breaking News: Bermuda's double business boost
I was forwarded this info in an email and felt I should share.gives an opportunity for one to compare some of thier last dealings. They may call themselves the "new UBP" some of the same players who were present for the following are still present now and one could consider more senior members.
1987. Tynes Bay incinerator plan begins and millions of dollars over budget.
This meeting will be between politicians from the UBP and PLP and members of the public are invited. I went to the first one 3 weeks ago and I was very impressed. It was the first time in my life I have seen politicians agree on some points. It was a humbling experience for all who attended, for the first time I was able to see politicians speaking as men as opposed to politicians. The main topic was based on swing voters, but then the discussion took a life of its own. For 3 hours politicians talked and discussed various issues.
I was reading the UBP platform “Agenda for Change” last night, and I realized something… They have an agenda for change alright... To change Bermuda into a Police State.
So as I was turning the page of the manuscript, I saw chilling plans they intend to implement under “More Effective Prosecution of Crime”
Let’s look at their planned reform to: “Legislate statutory periods of PREVENTATIVE DETENTION for persistent, repeat offenders where rehabilitation has failed.”
What is preventative detention you may ask? Good Question,
In a desperate attempt to defeat Patrice Minors, Michael Dunkley submitted a formal request to the Parliamentary Registrar to disenfranchise 84 voters in Smith's North. In addition to residency changes, one of the official 'reasons for objection' to the eligibility of three voters was, "registered to vote against Mr. Dunkley." In addition, many more voters that Mr. Dunkley tried to disenfranchise have been living in Smith's North for years and should be eligible to vote.

As I've said many times before, this is a forum for free speech. However, we do not condone personal attacks. When it came to our attention that an inappropriate video was posted by a Progressive Minds member, we went ahead and removed it. Thanks for reading.
Has anyone watched CITV? I watched it this weekend and was amazed at what I saw.
I saw footage of the riots in 1977...I saw the Mirrors program graduation...I saw an interview with Dr. Eva Hodgson and her views on race and the economy in Bermuda...
What I didnt see was PLP this, PLP that, or UBP this, or UBP that.
