Once again the scaremongering is out again.
Last week there was a letter to the editor by E Raben saying that Dr Brown will 'take bermuda to independence" and that a vote for the PLP is a vote for independence. Pure crap.

When it comes to improving transportation in Bermuda, the PLP has delivered. Yesterday, Dr. Brown outlined some of the PLP's transportation accomplishments. He said:
Probably not.
That's because when the Royal Gazette wants you to believe the international business community is reassessing its exit strategy and fixing to flee to the Cayman they put it on the front page. However when Invesco, a company with $462 billion in assets, says it wants to leave London to re-domicile in Bermuda it goes on page 27.
I'll never know what it's like to be in charge of $462 billion dollars. But I'll tell you this: if I had that much in assets under my control I would only take my money to an environment where the government was safe and strong and stable.

In a recent UBP video, Party Chairman Shawn Crockwell engaged in the worst kind of politics - the politics of personal destruction. Mr. Crockwell had the audacity to claim that we in the PLP are the ones that "set a bad example for our children."

Bermuda's tourism comeback continues. According to recently released report, money spent by visitors on tourism-related goods and services in Bermuda rose 15% in 2006 when compared to 2005.
Visitors spent $448.7 million while in Bermuda in 2006 as compared to $391.1 million in 2005. That's an increase of $57.6 million. That's real money and it shows that the PLP government's successful tourism efforts are paying off.
Yet again, the UBP are supporting the theft of confidential information, by Louise Jackson, the Shadow of Minister of Complaining, Shock and Awe, calling for Health Minister Michael Scott's resignation.
Private notes of a meeting Minister Scott had have been stolen from his office. These notes have somehow been misnomered as 'minutes' in the Royal Gazette's front page 'story'. It is amazing how the two organizations seem to working in tandem with each other.
"He seized every oportunity to challenge tactics calculated to reduce
black leadership and assert white superiority, he deplored the policy of the daily press of highlighting the crimes of blacks and ignoring their positive achievements"
Well, well, well…
After a year of insults, allegations, scaremongering, name-calling etc, the UBP and their outgoing Leader/Member of Parliament, the Milkman, have signed a Campaign Code of Conduct, in which they state that they will conduct themselves appropriately at all times, focus on the issues, and not resort to any of the above tactics.
They should have also put that they will not cause irreparable damage to Bermuda’s international reputation by placing fear in certain segments of Bermuda’s population, and to our various business communities.
Good evening Cabinet Colleagues, Members of Parliament, Future Members of Parliament, Party Executives, Delegates, PLP Members and supporters,
That time has come. The words you waited so patiently to hear have been spoken. The General Election has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 18.
Tonight we join together like we have never joined together before. We move forward lock-step toward a victory for the people of Bermuda - We move forward SOLID, SOLID AS THE ROCK.
Double Talk Dunkley resorted to juvenile name calling in the same speech where he promised to rise above the politics of personal destruction. Unbelievable. Double Talk Dunkley can't be trusted.
In the very same speech that Double Talk Dunkley vowed to "bring politics out of the gutter," he resorted to juvenile name calling saying that the Premier was somehow "selfish" for having the audacity to call an election when the maximum number of Bermudians can participate.

Making the announcement on the PLP website Dr. Brown said: “Today I called upon the acting Governor to dissolve Parliament in advance of a general election knowing well this could be an election between those who would take our country back and a party that would move our country forward, forward to a future of success for your children a future of comfort for our seniors and a full quality of life for us all.”
My thoughts on the Privy Council ruling are as follows-
1. I doubt there is anything substantial left to be ‘LEAKED’ out of the stolen files.
2. The document was a CONFIDENTIAL document so therefore, in my opinion, whether private citizen or public servant, if there was no evidence to charge anyone, then the documents should remain CONFIDENTIAL.
3. If we are going to start releasing CONFIDENTIAL police investigation information, then let us go back, WAYYYY back and start releasing police records of all investigations.
Below is an excellent post from the PLP Website
Today's Bermuda Sun features an excellent series of in-depth reports on the PLP Government's plan to ensure equality of opportunity in Bermuda.
A feature article by Nigel Regan tells the touching story of 'Jean,' a professional Bermudian woman who, despite her education and experience, has struggled with discrimination throughout her life. The Bermuda Sun:
Wayne Furbert believes pre-trial publicity surrounding a lawsuit against him was politically motivated and led to his removal as the leader of the United Bermuda Party earlier this year.
The case, involving work done on his house, was thrown out yesterday but it left Mr. Furbert fuming about the damage he says it caused him politically - and the apparent lack of support from some sectors of his party.

What is it with the blogs? Not many places to get good conversation without it descending to racist names calling.
This was a letter to the editor in the Royal Gazette that I had to put here. It was hilarious. But taking the comedy away, it is a serious thing. Do we really want this Cabinet to be in power?
A UBP cabinet
Dear Sir,
Please indulge me in my thoughts of Bermuda under a "new" United Bermuda Party Government:
Premier and Minister of Public Safety — Michael Dunkley
Well well, what do you know? The Governor supports independence.
“Asked why Bermuda had not moved on, he told The Royal Gazette: "I do think that part of it is people don't fully understand the argument, you may be surprised to hear the Governor, of all people, saying this.
"I have always thought that I understand the case for Independence rather well, to me Independence is the default option.
"You have got to explain why an island 3,000 miles away from the UK is being governed by a Westminster parliament and a Governor appointed from London.
I have to register my congratulations to the Ministry of Tourism and the workers within that planned and made this year's Bermuda Music Festival such a success.
I wasnt able to attend on the Wednesday night or Friday night, but heard rave reviews of both.
Hopefully this document clears up any misconceptions about the Dept of Immigration's Property Owning Policy.

Good Morning.
I have to say, I was shocked when the draft Workforce Equity Act 2007. I was beginning to loose hope that Bermuda would really ever have a progressive government and then they throw us a Gem like this.
The purspose of the bill reads as follows.
