Your Democratic & Human Rights
I have wrote on this also on my blog Catch-A-Fire.
I am of the understanding that there are currently some rumours going around insinuating that various businesses have told their staff to attend the demonstration tomorrow, with the implication that failure to do so would have some repercussions for those staff. A further implication is to discredit the demonstrations, both as being artificially inflated and as using intimidation to do this.
At this stage, as far as I am aware, there is no evidence to back up these allegations.
These are VERY VERY SERIOUS allegations. If there is found to be some truth in this then those businesses are breaking the law. Every citizen and resident of Bermuda possesses democratic and human rights as stated in the Constitution and the Human Rights Act. These include, but are not limited to, freedom of expression, freedom of opinion and freedom to assembly.
Anyone who has been threatened in anyway to either attend or not attend the demonstration should report this incident to the police and the human rights commission.
I need to stress that as far as I am aware there is as of yet absolutely no evidence to back up these claims. Some may even go so far as to accuse those who are actively distributing these allegations are actually interfering with democratic and human rights through deliberate misinformation.
NO ONE CAN DENY YOU THE RIGHT TO ATTEND OR NOT ATTEND THE DEMONSTRATIONS.
You are free to attend or not attend. Only you can stop yourself from going, or force yourself to go. Anyone who attempts to threaten you, in any way, is breaking the law and needs to be prosecuted accordingly.
If you want to attend the demonstration, go right ahead and more power to you.
If you want to organise a counter-demonstration, go right ahead and more power to you.
If you don't care either way, well, that's just fine too.
As long as you aren't breaking the law, have fun and exercise your democratic and human rights.

I 100% agree with these sentiments. I've heard some pretty appalling first hand accounts. Apparently, a number of white Bermudians feel that there weren't enough 'black faces' in the crowd and are doing everything in their power to change that. I also heard they're making signs to give to black Bermudians to parrot their points. It's really disgusting.

First Hand?
You said you heard reports of these instances first hand (i.e. from the actual, affected employee - otherwise it wouldn't be first hand) so you should easily be able to report which employer has made this massive error in judgement.
Anything else and you're just repeating/actively spreading lies.

I HEARD the reports first hand from people that were very scared for their jobs and may well be at the march today. Therefore, it is HEARSAY, and, I've acknowledged it as such. Hearsay that's been also supported by HOTT News.
Out of a respect for them, I will not put them in jeopardy.

Rocksolid, if you are not willing to endanger these people, which is valid, then you still have an obligation to report the issue to either (or both) the Human Rights Commission or the Police for investigation.

I mean you being the leader in the fight for equality and justice I would've thought that you would want to out these organizations to show them for what they really are? So why so reluctant to do so? Is it because you are just regurgitating, sorry I mean "citing", another or is it because you lied? Which one is it?
If it is not a lie then which company(ies) are acting in such a manner. If this is the truth then they should be named and shamed for their actions. Come clean rocksolid....

You stated you had heard first hand accounts. Which means that someone which experienced these allegations told you personally. Listening to a media outlet, whichis owned by a PLP MP, does not constitute first hand accounts.

Real mature. Can you provide a transcript for HOTT's report and tell us exactly what they haven't confirmed that, of course, they haven't acknowledged as hearsay?
Clearly, you don't know too many black Bermudians. I've heard reports from multiple people. The perpetrators were clever enough to not leave a paper trail. As for the signs, the comment was basically, if you don't have a sign or don't want to make one, we can get one for you.

Again, it's hearsay. I've said that over and over again. So, take it with a grain of salt.
Companies won't punish anyone if there's no proof of wrongdoing. And, unfortunately, I don't know of any documentation, just accounts. More likely, a glass ceiling will be put in place on the person who speaks out. People are scared to speak out because they know who management is.

Rocksolid if you are such a morally superior individual then you must practice what you preach right? In other words provide evidence of your claims. I understand it was Ms. Furbert who was on the radio spewing this bullsh*t. And we (bloggers) all know her penchant for twisiting the truth or blatantly lying to justify her point. It has been proven a few times before on Mr. Straling's site from what I rememeber. Even a youtube video was created to display her blatant lies.
So where is your evidence? Or is this just more hate/fear mongering about the white devils that you and your Dr. Brown administration love to conduct on a daily basis? Or maybe "you had to deceieve us?"
